Join us November 24th, 2024 at Clos La Chance Winery for our Inaugural Celebration of the Austin Chen Tsai Foundation. With an evening of dining, wine tasting, guest speakers and memories. We are pleased to host this event in Austin’s honor. As we inaugurate our mission, we will also be honoring the first anniversary of Austin’s passing, October 30th, 2024. Bio: Donald R. Gintzig, FACHE
President & Chief Executive Officer
WakeMed Health & Hospitals
Donald Gintzig joined WakeMed Health & Hospitals in 2013, bringing with him more than 30 years of progressive experience in health care leadership, strategy, operations and quality improvement. At WakeMed, Gintzig leads a team of mission-driven physicians, employees and volunteers as well as the initiatives and collaborative efforts that drive WakeMed’s strategic plan and its mission to improve the health and well-being of the community.
A retired Rear Admiral in the U.S. Navy, Gintzig held positions of increasing responsibility throughout his military career including senior healthcare executive and acting deputy surgeon general. He has also served as CEO for not-for-profit, faith-based and for-profit health systems across the country.
Gintzig earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master of business administration in accounting from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He completed his post-master’s hospital administration fellowship at South Miami Hospital in Miami, Fla.
